Hi Everyone!!

Recently we have been enjoying ourselves with homeschooling art projects. I have plans to post a bunch of the art projects we have been working on for homeschool like Tim Burton self portraits, Giacometti Minecraft sculptures, surreal collages a few more that we have in the works. In the meantime, here is an awesome free coloring page!

I created a super cute set of castle coloring pages for my shop but with Thanksgiving right around the corner, I thought now would be a great time to post a free coloring sheet as well!

I have a freebie for you! It's a 10 month year at a glance calendar with a space for notes. I searched the internet high and low for something like this and could not find anything so I created it my self!

Want a little story time? Are you wondering why I need this calendar? Well due to our best friend COVID.... we're homeschooling this year. I never thought I'd be a homeschool parent but here we are. Of course I have grand intentions of themed lessons around holidays and planning the entire year in 1 day. I need a great starting point to make that happen and thus I needed this specific calendar. I hope this calendar is helpful for you!

Digital Planning

Digital Planning is quickly becoming a new obsession for me! I bought my first apple product last November (iPad Pro 10.5), intending to use it for graphics design but for the most part it just sat there. I'm not sure what caused me to suddenly give it another go but in Nov of this year, I began using it all the time! I'm generally an Android girl but I have to admit the iPad did surprise me. In the past 2 months I've designed Tshirts, made some stickers for my daughter, drew a huge set of houseplant clip art, made some Tie Dye Digital Papers, launched some New Year's Digital Patterns, and today I made a digital planner cover (that unintentionally matches my digital paper set)!

Anyway, I just came here to post a freebie link to the 2021 digital planner cover. I'll be using Zoomnotes because it has a million awesome features! Leave a note down below and let me know how the digital planner cover looked in your app of choice!

Elf on the Shelf Calendar

Desktop Calendar Wallpaper: December 2015

December is an extra special month for me because it is my birthday!!! (and my mom's birth month!) That's right! I was born on Dec. 1 and she was born on Dec 14.

I hope you like the December Desktop Calendar! And uhhh, sorry for missing October AND November!! I need more free time. :) I already have a GREAT idea for January so I don't think I'll miss that month. :)

Desktop Calendar Freebie!

For the past few months I have searched the internet to find a cute calendar to use as my desktop wallpaper. Every month, I think to myself, "I need to make my own!" Well, I finally did! I got the inspiration from my lovely gifts from the VA Teacher Bloggers Meet up! Thank you to the wonderful Rachel from Mrs. O Knows for the amazing gift swap gifts! ( More on that later.) I have already put several of them to use! Please download the first calendar in my new Calendar Series!

Birthday Countdown!!

March 18th my 4 year old turned into a 5 year old!! It is exciting and scary all at the same time. I am already counting down the days that she starts school. We are at 5 months now. I am a mixed bag of emotions about that situation right now.

Anyway, on to fun things!! At this age my daughter is all about countdowns! They help keep her from asking how many days until (insert fun activity here). We have a Christmas countdown, I used one for our Disney trip and most recently I created one for her birthday! I searched for hours trying to find something that would work for her online to no avail. I don't know why I spent so much time searching for one online. I am a graphics designer! This is what I DO!!

I created the version on the left but she walked over while I was working on it and of course had to change things up! First, she added her name and then we had to change the font. She called her version video game style! Both options are available for FREE download in my google drive! These are 2 week birthday countdowns. For the "video game" style I used Small fonts, fixedsys or you can download Press Start 2P from Google Fonts. Check out this Google Fonts tutorial if you need help. Of course I left off her name so that you can add your child's name! We placed random stickers on each day as they came.

Workin' on it Wednesday!

I am super excited to be linking up with Middle School Math Moments to share what I am currently working on. I have a short little list of things I am actually working on and a LONG list of things I plan to work on.

First up, we have a blog design for Sunny and Bright in First Grade! We are adding the finishing touches. :)

Second up, I am working on another blog, it is a bit too early to share images for that one.

Lastly, we have a new TpT product I am working on. I will soon be adding more tie dye digital papers to my store! I have one set available here and this new set will have a few more color options. Leave a comment down below if you need some custom tie dye colors. Maybe I will be able to add them in. Oh, and did I mention you can grab this one for FREE! Simply right click the picture, click open image, then right click and choose save as! Feel free to use it however you like. Let me know in the comments if you decide to download it. :)

How to use Google Web Fonts

Yay! Another awesome link up by The Teaching Tribune! Unfortunately, I did not have time to create another font of my own, but I am sure you will enjoy this post just as much.

The first thing is to not let the name "Google Web Font" fool you. Sure you can easily use these fonts on your blog but did you know that you can download them and use them in your commercial products? Yep! It's true. Check out this message form Google that talks all about it. This morning I downloaded 95 fonts to add to my collection. I love that these fonts are Truly Hassle Free and I don't have to worry about using them. They have 600+ fonts for you to choose from.

1. To download the fonts, you will first need to make a collection. Browse through all of the fonts and click "Add to Collection".

2. Once you have added all of your favorite fonts, you will need to download them by clicking this tiny arrow in the top left hand side of the screen.

3. Next, the window below will pop up and you can click "Download the font families in your Collection as a .zip file"

4. Once your download is done, unzip the file and follow your normal process for installing fonts.
5. Be sure to come back and let me know which font was your favorite. :)

Of course one of my favorites is the Great Vibes font. This is the one I am using for my blog design.

What's in a Name?

I am once again reaching out to all of my amazing readers for some help! I am looking to change the name of my blog and TpT store. There are a few reasons why "On the way to Mrs. Bearfield's Class" no longer works. The first reason is that it is really looooooong. When I originally chose the name I was hardheartedly planning to become a teacher. In fact, I just completed my Associates Degree in Elementary Education. Unfortunately, times have change and I am no longer majoring in Education. (I promise to give a more detailed post on this soon.) I feel that the current name could be a bit misleading. I don't currently have a class, never have and probably never will. At least I don't think teaching 1 rambunctious 4 year old counts as a "class"? lol

In looking for a new name, I wanted something that was a bit more generic. I offer blog designs, clip art and a few other things in my TpT store. I started tossing around a few ideas.

1. Designs by Kristy - My issue with this one is that there is another AMAZING blog designer in the TpT world who goes by Designs by Christi. See the trouble there?

2. Designs by Kris - Not too bad, but I don't really use that as a nickname.

3. Designs by K - The blogspot URL is already taken. Not the end of the world per-say...

4. Kristy's Designs - I don't like the apostrophe. It just gets in the way.

5. This is where you come in. What do you think? Does it matter what the name is? I have been using this one for about 7 months. Is it too late to change?

I frequently use KristyBear for things since my last name is Bearfield, it works. Kind of.

FREE Font Friday!

I am so excited to finally have the motivation to jump into the font world! I made a few fonts but they have just been sitting on my computer. Thanks to the Teaching Tribune's FREE Font Friday Linky; here is my first font! This font is special to me because it is my daughters handwriting!! At the time of creation she was just 4 years old.

Bright Math Ideas Blog Hop!

Today I am joining up with some amazing bloggers to bring you a collection of Math fun and some freebies! Each blogger will have something different to share, so be sure to go through the whole hop. :)

Even a 3 year old can have fun with math, especially when candy is involved. :) I created these graphing sheets to be easy for my daughter to use. First we guessed how many M&Ms we had in our pile. She sorted them by color and colored the name of the colors. I had to write in our answers.

This activity can easily be adapted to work for Pre K-1st grade. The older kids should be able to write in their own numbers. A conversation heart graphing sheet is also included. You can download these graphing sheets for FREE at my TpT store. :)
